Introduction

Christian Religious Studies (CRS) for Primary 6 helps pupils understand the teachings of the Bible and apply Christian principles to their daily lives. It focuses on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, Christian values, obedience to God, love, forgiveness, honesty, service and peaceful living. The subject also encourages pupils to develop good character and responsible behaviour at home, school and in society.

General Objectives

By the end of Primary 6, pupils should be able to:

  1. Explain important teachings and stories from the Bible.
  2. Describe significant events in the life and ministry of Jesus Christ.
  3. Explain the importance of faith, prayer and obedience to God.
  4. Demonstrate Christian virtues such as love, honesty, humility and forgiveness.
  5. Explain the importance of helping and caring for others.
  6. Identify the consequences of disobedience and sinful behaviour.
  7. Explain the importance of peace, unity and cooperation.
  8. Apply the teachings of Jesus Christ in everyday situations.
  9. Develop respect for parents, teachers, elders and other members of society.
  10. Demonstrate responsible Christian behaviour at home, school and in the community.
